Personal Statement Editing

We offer one or multiple edits of your personal statement.

Once you purchase the editing package that works best for your needs (if you’re unsure, from our experience, we always highly recommend at least 2), you will receive a confirmation order email and a separate email requesting specific information and your personal statement for editing. You should receive these emails within 24 hours. If you do not, please reach out to us at info@med-mentors.com.

Once you receive our email, you will send us your personal statement as well as answers to some important intake questions so that we better get to know you and your major concerns with your essay.

Once we receive your essay, we will be working extremely hard to read, review, and edit it.

We complete an in-depth analysis on word choice, syntax, grammar/spelling, and sentence structure, but also complete a broader evaluation of content, structure and flow. We ensure that your essay will demonstrate to the admissions committee your motivation for medicine while highlighting your unique background and strengths. We critically think through all the components of your essay and how they fit together. We don’t do simple edits of grammar and spelling. We pride ourselves on the admissions committee expertise that we bring to your application so that your application will be appealing to admissions committees. 

Following our comprehensive edit, we will email you our edits as a word document and a formal PDF feedback report. The feedback report is only included after the first edit. This feedback report will detail the strengths and weaknesses of your essay, theme, structure, and areas of improvement. You will find this extremely helpful!

If you purchased multiple edits, you will then revise your draft and send us your new draft when it is ready for review. We will then complete the process again when editing your subsequent drafts!

We have a fast turnaround time of 2-3 days (excluding Sundays and major holidays)!

 

Application Editing

We offer one or multiple edits of your medical school or residency application.

Once you purchase the editing package that works best for your needs (if you’re unsure, from our experience, we always highly recommend at least 2), you will receive a confirmation order email and a separate email requesting specific information and your application for editing. You should receive these emails within 24 hours. If you do not, please reach out to us at info@med-mentors.com.

Once you receive our email, you will send us your application descriptions as a word document, your CV for review, and your answers to some important intake questions so that we better get to know you and your major concerns with your application.

For the different applications, we will edit the following:

  1. AMCAS: Up to 15 activity descriptions (700 characters) including 3 most meaningful (1325 characters).
  2. AACOMAS: Up to 20 activity descriptions (600 characters).
  3. TMDSAS: Up to 20 activity descriptions (300 characters) including most meaningful (500 characters) and Personal Characteristics and Optional Essays (both 2500 characters).
  4. ERAS (residency): Up to 15 activity descriptions (1,020 characters).

We will edit ONE of these applications. If you’re applying to both AMCAS and AACOMAS, we recommend sending us your application materials for AMCAS as it is longer.

Secondary Application Editing

To provide you with the best service, we only offer 2 rounds of edits of your medical school secondaries: one major and one minor edit.

Once you purchase the editing package that works best for your needs, you will receive a confirmation order email and a separate email requesting specific information and your application for editing. You should receive these emails with 24 hours. If you do not, please reach out to us at info@med-mentors.com.

Once you receive our email, you will send us your secondary application descriptions as a word document. In your word document, please include the prompt/question, the word count for the prompt/question, and your written response. You may also send us your primary application, if you’d like us to compare your responses to your primary application. 

Due to the varying lengths of secondaries, we have a criteria of a 2,500 word maximum for all the secondary prompts you send us. This may be 2 school with 5-6 prompts or 3 schools with only 1-3 prompts.

We only ask that you abide closely to the 2,500 word maximum total for all your secondaries. This will most likely be 2 or 3 schools. If you have shorter secondaries, you may send your responses to more schools, just keep in mind the total word count! 

Once we receive your application materials, we will be working extremely hard to read, review, and edit them.

We ensure that your secondary responses answer the prompt or question and do not repeat the same exact information from your primary application.  We critically think through all the components of your application and how they fit together. We don’t do simple edits of grammar and spelling. We pride ourselves on the admissions committee expertise that we bring to your application so that your application will be appealing to admissions committees. 

Following our comprehensive edit, we will email you our edits as a word document. You will then revise your draft and send us your new draft, and we will provide a final edit of your secondaries. 

Since the secondaries are lengthier than your personal statement or secondaries, we have a turnaround time of 3-4 days (excluding Sundays and major holidays).
