Quick Study Tips for Acing Your Classes

Medical school is tough. As they say, you are literally drinking water from a firehose. Having on through it, I learned how to study efficiently and effective. Here are my tips!

Study tips for pre-medical or medical students

  1. Review the lecture content prior to lecture. Just quickly skimming a chapter or watching a quick video actually makes a huge difference.📝

  2. Review your lecture notes after your lectures. I personally re-wrote them in a more organized way and went back and looked up stuff I didn’t know. 👩🏽‍💻

  3. Use supplemental resources (especially in medical school) to reinforce those topics (e.g. Sketchy, Pathoma). 📚

  4. After a few lectures, do practice questions on those topics.👩‍🏫

  5. Keep track of questions you’re getting incorrect and for those hard to remember things, create a flashcard (e.g. Anki) on that topic. 💻

  6. Keep reviewing your notes over and over, and/or keep doing your Anki cards. Repetition is KEY to comprehension and memorization.↪️

  7. Use google to look up confusing topics if you’re not understanding it from textbooks/videos. The “Images” page is gold and can help visualize explain complex concepts in an easy way! 🖥️

I hope this helps!
